Patrick Gasienica Obituary, Death Cause, Funeral & More

 Olympic skier representing the United States at the Beijing Games, has died at the age of 24 under tragic circumstances.

He was killed in a motorbike accident on Monday night in Bulla Valley, in the far northern suburbs of Chicago.

The sad tragedy occurred in Bull Valley, Illinois, which is only about 50 miles from Chicago. Patrick was the only resident involved in the crash, according to McHenry County Coroner Michael Rein.


Here, after the fall, he was transferred to a neighboring hospital, where he was lamentably pronounced dead.

Gase’s unexpected death devastated the ski jumping community and the athlete’s popularity. All respected him for his wit, tenacity, and friendship.

USA Nordic posted his condolences on Twitter, highlighting the excellent skills of his rival, teammate and friend.

Gasienica competed in two individual events at the Beijing Olympics, placing 49th and 53rd, and also helped the United States team to a commendable 10th place finish with Casey Larson, Kevin Bickner and Dean Decker.


Gasienica is upbeat about the future of ski jumping in the US, pointing to a rise in young athletes joining clubs across the country. About 40 miles northeast of Chicago, at the Norge Ski Club, Gasienica has completed ski-jumping facilities.

In his career it is clear that he is committed to the game and wants the American team to succeed. A distinguished and well-liked athlete, Patricius Gasienica is being mourned by the ski jumping community. His contributions to the sport will be an inspiration to future generations, and his memory will always be cherished
